Today, I am going to share a collection of more than 30 recipes of sweets and desserts that you can prepare for an after dinner treat, lunch or for any festival or special occasion. Chenna Rasgulla or Rasagulla is a popular sweet and can easily be prepared at home in just 30 minutes using just milk, sugar, vinegar and water. You can also use lime juice in place of vinegar. 





Sooji/ Rava/ Semolina is a versatile ingredient that can be used to make a number of dishes. Soft semolina barfi  is an ideal sweet for this festive occasion as it is delicious, easy to make and colourful.




Perfect for any festive occasion, simple, delicious and instant Milk peda. This is made with  milk powder and condensed milk.




Shahi Tukda is a delicious, rich and easy to make sweet that you can prepare on special occasion or festivals. Shahi Tukda is also an ideal sweet to prepare when you are hosting a large gathering of people. Making Shahi Tukda needs very few ingredients and the sweet gets done in just 1 hour.





Ragi laddoos are healthy and delicious sweets that you can make during the festive season. They are really easy to prepare and need very few ingredients. These ragi laddoos can be cooked in just about 20 minutes and taste delicious.



This is the most simple and easy to cook barfi recipe. The whole process gets over in just about 20 minutes.




Bottle gourd halwa or lauki ka halwa is a lip smacking sweet that can be cooked using very few ingredients. It is easy to prepare and tastes delicious.





Mysore pak is one of the most popular sweets in India. Originally from Mysore in Karnataka, this delicacy is made using besan, ghee (clarified butter) and sugar and is available in almost all parts of the country. This authentic soft melt in the mouth ghee Mysore pak can be easily prepared at home in less than 10 minutes.



 


Semolina or Rava ladoo is a very simple and easy to prepare sweet that gets done in less than 20 minutes. It is prepared by mixing roasted sooji with sugar, nuts and ghee and shaping the mix to form balls. The ladoos can be prepared and stored in an air tight container for later use.



 


Gulab jamun is commonly made using khoya, flour and sugar and flavoured with rose water or cardamom powder. We can also prepare gulab jamuns using gulab jamun mixes as they are easily available and save time and effort. The gulab jamuns are ready in less than an hour and taste delicious.




 


Bread halwa can be prepared in a jiffy and tastes delicious. You can serve it hot or refrigerate for a few hours and serve it as a dessert after dinner.





Ras Malai is a delicious sweet made using milk powder and milk. The recipe may look difficult, but it is easy to prepare and would surely find a place in your recipe diary.




Carrot halwa is one of the most popular sweets in India. There are several methods of preparing this halwa. Here I have shared a quick, easy and delicious recipe of making carrot halwa in pressure cooker.







Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits and I often use them in my desserts to add taste and colour. Strawberry kheer is one such dessert. Just the addition of strawberries to a kheer takes the taste to an all new level. Do try out this recipe and I am sure you will like it.






Trifle pudding is a delicious dessert made by layering sponge cake with fruits and custard. It is best served chilled and is an ideally served after dinner. I have used bananas and cherries here, but you can any other fruit of your choice.






Gulgule is a delicious and easy to make traditional sweet that we often prepare at home. The recipe I am sharing today is my mother-in-law's who is an expert in making it. You can also make gulgules in large quantities at home and store them in air tight containers. They are an ideal snack for picnics and family get togethers.








Muthanjan is a delicious sweet made with milk, basmati rice and condensed milk. It is often made during festivals and special occasions and is also served during Muslim weddings. Today I am sharing an easy to prepare recipe of Muthanjan that I got from my Mom-in-law. Do try this recipe and I am sure you will love it.






This is a quick and easy recipe of ladoo that I made recently using Complan health drink mix and semolina. The addition of Complan with its chocolaty taste gave a nice flavour and aroma to the ladoo. You can also try out other flavours like kesar badam and badam chocolate.






Maleeda is a popular sweet dish in the North Arcot district of Tamil Nadu. It is a special sweet often made during Muslim weddings. The method of making Maleeda is very simple but time consuming process. So it is usually prepared 2 or 3 days before a wedding, function or a special occasion.






Bread halwa is a delicious sweet made using bread, milk and dry fruits. I have already shared the recipe of bread halwa here, and in this post I am sharing a recipe of bread halwa that is often served in Muslim weddings. This recipe has bread cooked in sugar syrup. Try out this really simple and easy recipe at home and I am sure you will love it.






This recipe combines the vivid tastes of faluda (china grass pudding), jelly and mangoes in a single glass and not only looks good but also tastes delicious. This recipe makes 2 glasses and you can also make this for parties and special occasions and delight your guests.





Caramel custard pudding or caramel egg pudding is a very delicious and popular dessert around the world. The pudding is steamed hence there is no oil used. With just 3 ingredients that are available in every Indian home, this dessert can easily be prepared.





Papaya is a commonly available fruit packed with several health benefits. Sometimes the taste of the papaya is not as sweet as you wish, and it is on those days that you can try this dessert. It is very easy to prepare and tastes delicious. 




Zarda is a very delicious sweet made using rice and sugar. It is very easy to make and is one of those recipes in which you can never go wrong.





Firni is one of the most famous sweets in India. It is slightly different from rice kheer as it uses lesser quantity of rice. There are several methods of making this delicacy. It is simply delicious and takes about 40 minutes to prepare. 




Egg halwa is a delicious and simple sweet that is easy to cook and tastes delicious. It is perfect sweet for festivals and family gatherings.



 


Basundi is a very popular sweet made using milk, rice, sugar and condensed milk along with plenty of dry fruits and nuts. It is commonly served during festivals, weddings, and other celebrations. This is one of the most favoured sweets at my home.



 


Khajur halwa is a delicious sweet made using dried dates and milk. The recipe uses just a handful of ingredients and gets done in a span of about 30 minutes. A small amount of sugar has been used in the recipe but you can omit it to make the sweet healthier.





Carrot halwa is delicious and easy to prepare and can also be served as a barfi. It requires just 5 ingredients.



 


Paenia is a traditional sweet made using maida dough that is layered as a paratha, deep fried in oil and then soaked in sugar syrup. It tastes delicious and is best served hot.




Ande ka naan is a simple sweet where bread is dipped in sweetened egg mixture and deep fried in oil. It is very easy to make, does not consume much time and requires very few ingredients. For people with a sweet tooth this is a perfect snack which can be had any time and on the go.  





Faluda is a delicious and traditional dessert that is very easy to make. Variations to this can be made by adding condensed milk, essence or fruits to make it even more delicious. But this tastes perfect and can be had as it is.




Rooh Afza is a concentrated syrup which is usually mixed with milk or water and sugar and served as a sherbet or drink. Adding Rooh Afza to a simple faluda adds a refreshing taste and flavour to it and can be served as a dessert after dinner.
