Tandoori chicken that’s air fried in the Instant Pot Duo crisp Air fryer. Succulent, aromatic, flavorful & delicious tandoori chicken. I’ve made an easy homemade marinade, spread it all over the chicken & marinated for a few hours. Air fried in the Instant Pot air fryer for 35 minutes. The chicken turned out perfect, slightly crispy & browned outside & juicy inside.

Ingredients
For making the marinade
  • Kashmiri chili powder- 1 tbsp
  • Regular Chili powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1 tsp
  • Ground black pepper- ½ tsp
  • Salt- 2 tsp
  • Yogurt- 3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • Fresh Mint, chopped- 1 tbsp
  • Cilantro, chopped- 1 tbsp
Other ingredients
  • Chicken leg-thigh pieces- 3 to 6
  • Oil- to spread over the chicken
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine all the spices & ingredients for making the marinade, make into a smooth paste.
  2. I've taken chicken leg-thigh pieces.
  3. Add lines over the meat.
  4. Spread the marinade all over the chicken.
  5. Let marinate for 2 hours or overnight the better.
  6. I've used Instant Pot Duo crisp + Air fryer.
  7. Place the stainless steel pot in the main pot.
  8. Place the air fryer basket in the stainless steel pot.
  9. Place the broil tray (that came with the Instant Pot) on the air fryer basket.
  10. Grease the broil tray with oil.
  11. Place the marinated chicken on the tray.
  12. Spread some oil over the chicken.
  13. Close with the air fryer lid.
  14. Select air fry, Temp should be 400 F, total air frying time should be 35 minutes.
  15. First, let's air fry for 20 minutes.
  16. After 20 minutes of air frying, open the lid & spread some oil over the chicken.
  17. Close with the lid & air fry for another 15 minutes.
  18. After 35 minutes of air frying, open the lid.
  19. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
  20. Garnish with sliced onions & lemon.
  21. Drizzle some freshly squeezed lemon juice & enjoy.
  22. You can also drizzle 1 to 2 tsp of white vinegar, will give a nice kick to this tandoori chicken.
